About
Lilliana Miller/ New York City, U.S.A
|
Lilliana brings curiosity, boldness, and a quiet fearlessness to innovation across many spaces. Her versatility as an artist, scholar, and storyteller equips her with a skillset and professional experience spanning dance, journalism, digital media & graphic design, marketing & communications, research, non-profits, sales, social media management, choreography, public relations, music, photography, production, teaching, and more.
Originally from the west side of Chicago, she started her training at The Academy of Movement & Music and as a member of MOMENTA Dance Company before furthering her studies at The Ailey School and Fordham University where she received her BFA in dance through the Fordham/Ailey BFA program and a double degree in English(BA) with a concentration in Creative Writing. She is trained in a versatile range of techniques and repertoire including Ballet, Graham, Horton, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, the Gaga Method, and more in addition to working with choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Rebecca Margolick, Nick Pupillo, Alexander Anderson, Eddy Ocampo, Madison Hicks, Earl Mosely, and Doron Perk. Her unique artistry reflects her fascination in discovering hidden pathways between movement, language, and art. She's inspired by the universal power of these art forms to shed light on social justice issues and create new outlets through which cross-cultural relationships, inclusivity, individuality, and racial reconciliation can be nurtured. Lilliana has been published with Pointe Magazine and The Dance Enthusiast. Additionally, she is a recipient of the Meisel Grant Scholarship Program through which she continues to dance, freelance, and develop her current choreographic dance research in New York and Chicago. |
